1865:  President Abraham Lincoln in his Second Inaugural address , referring to the Northern and the Southern citizens of the United States, stated, “both read the same Bible.”

2009:  President Barrack Obama, also referring to the citizens of the United States,  states, "we are NOT a Christian Nation"
